TANGERANG - Police thwarted 10 passengers suspected of leaving for Hajj using a non-procedural route through Soekarno Hatta Airport, Tangerang City.
"They will go to the Holy Land to perform the pilgrimage, but use a work visa," said Soekarno Hatta Airport Police Chief Kombes Ronald Sipayung in his statement, Friday, April 18.
Ronald said that his party was coordinating with the Ministry of Religion (Kemenag) for further handling of the non-procedural hajj pilgrims.
"We are still coordinating with the Ministry of Religion," said Ronald.
Kasatreskrim Soekarno Hatta Airport Police Commissioner Yandri Mono added that the disclosure began when the group of non-procedural Hajj candidates were about to fly using Malindo Air on the Jakarta-Malaysia route.
However, when his party conducted an inspection, it turned out that they flew using a work visa.
"Delay departures because they are suspected of carrying out the pilgrimage but using a work visa (work) or an amil visa," said Yandri.
Currently, the 10 prospective pilgrims are still conducting a more in-depth examination to reveal whether there are parties who arrange their departure.
