Work Without Permission, 2 Chinese Citizens Arrested By Tangerang Immigration

TANGERANG - Immigration Class I Non TPI Tangerang, West Java, secured two colors of Chinese countries that were proven to have violated the misuse of residence permits but worked in companies.

Head of Immigration Class I Non TPI Tangerang Hasanin said the two Chinese citizens who were arrested were XZ on April 10, 2025 at the Green Lake City Area Office Shophouse, Cipondoh, then ZJ on April 11, 2025 at the Office Shophouse of the Pantai Indah Kapuk 2 Area.

"Both of them violated Article 122 letter a of Law Number 6 of 2011 concerning immigration, namely abusing or carrying out activities that were not in accordance with the intent and purpose of granting residence permits given to them," Hasanin said in Tangerang, Antara, Friday, April 18.

The security of the two Chinese citizens, said Hasanin, began with public reports and intelligence operations of the Intelligence Team for the Class I Immigration Office for Non-TPI Tangerang.

From the results of the examination, XZ used a residence permit for visits with the B1 Index and has been active at the company since February 2025.

"When the officers carried out immigration surveillance, XZ was working as a construction worker by working on furniture cutting wood, display racks and aluminum frames," Hasanin said.

Furthermore, the Chinese citizen with the initials ZJ used a residence permit for visits with the B1 Index and has been active at the company since his arrival to Indonesia on March 12, 2025.

"When found by officers on April 11, 2025, he was preparing to open and operate the company as a Mandor sent by a central company in China to help prepare for the opening and prepare all company operations in Indonesia," he said.

Head of the Banten immigration Directorate General's Regional Office, Hendro Tri Prasetyo, added that after further investigation by the Inteldakim Team, both were given immigration administrative measures, namely deportation and being included in the deterrence list.
