The Death Of Jesus Christ At The Jakarta Cathedral Takes POV From Mother Mary

JAKARTA - Head of Public Relations of the Jakarta Cathedral Church, Susyana Suwadie, revealed that the worship of death or the crossing of Jesus Christ will take the Point of View (POV) from the Virgin Mary.

This Creative Cross Road is titled Mater Purissima which means a very holy mother.

"And this is a drama accompanied by movement and music," Susyana told reporters at the Ketedral Church, Central Jakarta, Friday, April 18.

This creative Way of the Cross continues to follow the flow of the Bible but from the side of a mother.

The reason for the appointment of the Way of the Cross from POV Bunda Maria was because this figure taught the people about compassion, grief and hope.

"So how is Mother Mary's heart, experiencing a very hurt heart, seeing her son suffer and die on the cross," said Susyana.

"And this also teaches us all how we see grief, then there is love there, but that love is also accompanied by joy," he continued.

Susyana explained that the Good Friday service will be divided into 3 sessions, namely at 12.00 WIB, 15.00 WIB, and 18.00 WIB. Meanwhile, this morning at 09.00 WIB, there is a Creative Cross Road.

"Today, worship will be held 3 times. So once the creative cross is then worship 3 times. Starting from the first worship at 12.00 WIB," he said.

A total of 4,600 seats are provided for Good Friday service today. The Jakarta Cathedral hopes that the number can accommodate the congregation comfortably.

"Well, it consists of almost 700 in the church. Then our Graha Pemuda has used it actively on the 1st and 4th floors, it is a total of 850. Then outside of this, we usually put up tents and increase the capacity of 2,500. And at Plaza Maria there are 500," he said.
