BMKG forecaster Andika Hapsari was quoted by ANTARA as saying that light rain has the potential to occur in a number of big cities on the island of Sumatra, such as Banda Aceh, Medan, Pekanbaru, Tanjung Pinang, Jambi, Bengkulu, and Palembang.
"For the Java Island area, light rain is also predicted to flush cities such as Serang, Jakarta, Semarang, and Surabaya," said Andika.
He added that moderate-intensity rain has the potential to occur in Bandung and Yogyakarta. For other eastern regions of Indonesia, light rain is predicted to occur in Ternate, Ambon, Sorong, Jayapura, and Merauke. In Nabire, moderate intensity rain has the potential to fall throughout the day.
