TANGERANG - A total of 19 foreign nationals (WNA) from various different countries were secured by Immigration Class 1 Special for Non-TPI Tangerang. They were arrested for violating immigration rules.

Head of the Banten immigration Directorate General's Regional Office, Hendro Tri Prasetyo, detailed that dozens of foreigners were arrested, namely Liberia one person, Gambia one person, Guinea Bissau one person, Nigeria eight people and Pakistan eight people.

One foreigner with the initials IOO, who was previously secured by the South Tangerang City Metro Police, was proven to have violated the residence permit which had expired since October 22, 2022.

Currently, the 19 foreigners are subject to immigration administrative acts in the form of detention in the Detention Room of the Class I Special Immigration Office for Non-TPI Tangerang for further examination.

Head of the Class I Immigration Office of Non TPI Tangerang Hasanin added that for foreigners suspected of violating the criminal provisions of Article 119 or Article 123 of the Immigration Law, if sufficient evidence is found, an Immigration Crime Investigation will be carried out.

"For foreigners who have been proven to have violated the administrative provisions of Article 78 paragraph 3 of the Immigration Law, they will be subject to Immigration Administrative Actions in the form of Deportation and Anti-Corruption," he said.
