Kadis Agricultural Baubau Sultra Jadi Tersangka Korupsi Beni Padi, Digil Kejari Pekan Depan

The Head of the Agriculture and Food Security Service (Kadis) of Baubau City, Southeast Sulawesi (Sultra) initials MR has been named a suspect in alleged corruption in the procurement of rice rice rice seeds for the 2022 fiscal year.

Head of the Intelligence Section of the Baubau District Attorney's Office (Kejari), Abdul Kadir Sangadji, said that the letter signed by the Head of the Baubau District Attorney's Office was Number 01/P.3.11/FD.2/4/2025 dated April 14, 2025.

"So it is true that there was a suspect named Muhamad Rais as the Head of Agriculture and Food Security at Baubau City related to the corruption in the procurement of rice rice rice seeds," he said in Baubau, Wednesday, April 16, which was confiscated by Antara.

Abdul revealed that in this case MR's capacity as Budget User Authority (KPA) at the Baubau City Agriculture and Food Security Service.

The determination of the suspect after the prosecutor conducted a more in-depth investigation, including the facts of the trial disclosed by the witness, two defendants whose sentences have been decided by the Corruption Court in Kendari.

"The point is that this case has been determined by two other suspects and has been decided by the Corruption Court in Kendari, but they are also making an appeal. And the loss to the two suspects is the same as the loss of determining the suspect Muhamad Rais," he said.

He mentioned the amount of alleged corruption committed by the suspects was around Rp. 180 million from the project value of more than Rp. 300 million.

Abdul Kadir explained that the determination of a person to be a suspect had at least fulfilled two sufficient pieces of evidence. The two pieces of evidence are as in 184 of the Criminal Procedure Code, namely witnesses, witness statements, and evidence related to letter instructions, documents while serving as KPA.

He said that his party would summon the suspect MR next week.

Regarding the articles suspected of the suspect, he said, the primer of article 2 paragraph 1 in conjunction with article 3 is related to the law on corruption.
