9 KKB Members Killed By Nemangkawi Task Force, Lekagak Telenggen Boss Still Hunted By Officers

PAPUA - The Nemangkawi Task Force (Satgas) claimed nine members of the armed criminal group (KKB) were killed in a shootout that took place around the KKB headquarters in Olenski, Ilaga Utara District, Puncak Regency.

"It is true from the reports received that nine members of the KKB died in gunfire," said Head of the Nemangkawi Public Relations Task Force Kombes Iqbal Al Qupdusy in Jayapura, Wednesday, April 28.

Head of the Nemangkawi Public Relations Task Force, as reported by Antara, said that his party could not confirm the identity of the KKB members who died because members of the TNI / Polri were still trying to reach the group's headquarters. However, he continued, who died from the Lekagak Telenggen group.

Iqbal said, Lekagak Telegen has been included in the Papua Regional Police DPO since 2020 with the number DPO / 43 / VIII / 2020 / Reskrim Mimika, dated August 28, 2020 in the case of the shooting at Mile 61 while traveling from Arwanop to Tsinga.

The certainty regarding the deaths of the nine KKB members, said Kombes Iqbal, came from the equipment they had.

"It will be known for sure after members reach and control the KKB headquarters," he said.

The pursuit of the KKB was still ongoing, although on Tuesday, April 27, Bharada Komang was killed and two others suffered gunshot wounds.

Previously, members of the KKB shot the head of the Papua Regional State Intelligence Agency (Kabinda), Brigadier General TNI Putu Danny, in Dambet Village, Beoga District, and two teachers and a student at SMAN 1 Ilaga, Puncak Regency.
