Pramono Asks Persija To Bring The Cup Back To Jakarta City Hall

JAKARTA - DKI Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung asked Persija to bring the trophy back to DKI Jakarta City Hall. This is a tradition that is carried out every time Persija becomes the champion in football matches.

Pramono made this request when he hosted lunch with the players and Persija management at the DKI Jakarta City Hall. Finally, Persija brought the trophy to City Hall after winning Liga 1 in 2018 and the 2021 Menpora Cup.

"Usually Persija goes to City Hall with trophies. This time we prepare Persija to bring trophies in the future. I am serious with the Deputy Governor to really want it," said Pramono, Thursday, April 10.

Pramono promised the DKI Provincial Government will provide full support to Persija. This started with the signing of a memorandum of understanding (MoU) on February 20 which made the Jakarta International Stadium (JIS) Persija headquarters.

Given that Persija and its supporters, Jakmania, have been hoping that the Kemayoran Tigers can play at home for a long time.

"I really hope for next year, I really hope that we can play full time in Jakarta as the home," said Pramono.

In addition, Pramono emphasized that he would make improvements to infrastructure in the JIS area, such as increasing the parking capacity of vehicles to make it easier for spectators to provide special places for the sale of Persija merchandise at JIS.

"Even transportation to JIS, if Persija is really home entirely, we will fix it, including the frequency of the KRL and its trains, including the LRT, which will be built," explained Pramono.

"Hopefully this can also be completed quickly so that there is no more reason because transportation to JIS is a problem. Hopefully, it will be better and the most important pride if Persija becomes the champion," he added.

Continuing, Persija Manager Bambang Pamungkas admitted that his party has a target to make Persija win in the next two years. So, it can be Jakarta's 500th birthday gift in 2027.

"We are given 2 years to be able to prepare a team to reach the championship in 2027, plus 2028 Persija will be 100 years old. As stated earlier, we can play full home in Jakarta, so that we can get point by point, God willing, we will fight in the winning path," said Bambang.
