JAKARTA - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) ensures that its position as the Supervisory and Accountability Committee of the Anagata Nusantara Power Investment Management Agency (BPI Danantara) does not affect its performance. They are even ready to take action if allegations of corruption are found there.
"KPK ensures that independence in law enforcement will be well maintained," KPK spokesman Tessa Mahardhika told reporters in a written statement quoted on Tuesday, April 8.
"In the event of legal problems involving the Danantara, we will act professionally and objectively to prioritize the principles of transparency and accountability without intervention from any party," he continued.
Tessa also emphasized that there would be no conflict of interest related to the placement of the KPK Chair on the committee.
According to him, the mention of the KPK chairman referred to as part of the Supervision and Accountability Committee does not refer to Setyo Budiyanto, who is currently holding the position. "Not personal capacity," said the spokesman with the investigator's background.
Every input given by the anti-corruption commission, Tessa, said that it would be given based on input from non-individual institutions.
"KPK will continue to evaluate the effectiveness of our involvement for further improvement steps," he said.
"On this occasion, we also invite the public to participate in supervising the performance of BPI Danantara as a form of public involvement in guarding national development," said Tessa.
