JAKARTA - Islamic Cooperation Organizations (OICs) are urging the establishment of an independent committee to investigate Israel's crimes against humanitarian workers in the Gaza Strip.
The OIC, in a statement released last Sunday, was quoted from IRNA-OANA, Monday, April 7, strongly condemning Israel's attack on aid forces in Gaza, including the Red Crescent team and Civil Defense which are carrying out humanitarian duties.
The statement emphasizes that the planned and intentional attacks by the Israeli regime on Palestinian medical personnel, humanitarian organizations, and civilians constitute a marked violation of international humanitarian law and the Geneva Convention.
The OIC calls for the establishment of an independent international investigative committee under the auspices of the United Nations Security Council to investigate these crimes and all other crimes carried out by the occupation regime against the Palestinian people.
The OIC also called for the prosecution of all individuals responsible for these crimes.
In another part of the statement, the OIC appealed to all countries to adopt political, economic and legal measures against the Israeli occupation regime to force them to accept an immediate and thorough ceasefire and allow the entry of humanitarian aid into the Gaza Strip.
In addition, the OIC emphasizes the importance of all countries to implement decisions and decisions of the International Court and the International Criminal Court.
They urged accelerated investigations of war crimes and genocide against the Palestinian people, and called for the activation of the international justice mechanism so that criminals can be held accountable and legal immunity can be ended.
The recent killings of 15 paramedics and aid workers in Gaza are a clear example of war crimes and crimes against humanity by Israel.
Israeli troops shot the paramedics in the chest and head with their hands tied. They were found buried in a mass grave excavated by Israeli military bulldozers.
The aid workers were reported missing on March 23 while carrying out a rescue mission in the Tal as-Sultan neighborhood, Rafah.
