JAKARTA - DPR Commission I member Dave Laksono appreciates the public for raising funds to buy submarines. The invitation, which was initiated by Yogyakarta Jogokaryan Mosque activists, became even more crowded after Ustaz Abdul Somad uploaded the invitation on his Instagram account.

"We appreciate his love for safeguarding Indonesia's sovereignty and lifting up the military, the only problem is that the procurement of defense equipment is a government policy, so this contribution can be submitted to the government for the government to carry out its functions," said Dave when contacted by VOI, Jakarta, Tuesday, April 27.

He explained that by law, defense equipment is purchased through the state budget. However, historically, Indonesia bought the first aircraft from donations from the Acehnese people.

Dave said, donations like this would not be in vain and even useful. He also believes that Ustaz Abdul Somad's big name who uploaded this information can be held accountable for him.

As previously reported, the lecturer Ustaz Abdul Somad (UAS) invited the joint community to buy a replacement submarine for the KRI Nanggala-402 which sank in Bali waters, Wednesday, April 21. UAS cooperates with Jogokariyan Yogya Mosque in this donation activity.

UAS announced this on his official Instagram account, @ustadzabdulsomad_official on Monday, April 26. In the upload monitored by VOI, UAS uploaded a photo of the KRI Nanggala-402 and included the invitation for donations two hours ago.
