BANDUNG - The West Java Regional Police have prepared 24,976 joint personnel in the Operation Ketupat Lodaya 2025 to secure the celebration of Eid al-Fitr 1446 Hijri/2025 AD.
West Java Police Traffic Director, Police Commissioner Dodi Darjanto, said the operation, which took place from March 26 to April 8, 2025, was to ensure the smooth flow of homecoming and return, as well as to maintain public safety during the Eid holiday.
"So, basically we from the West Java Regional Police have prepared everything, both the readiness of personnel and security posts and of course road safety readiness," said Dodi after the 2025 Ketupat Lodaya Operation Forces Ceremony, quoted by ANTARA, Thursday, March 20.
Dodi said that the West Java Regional Police had prepared various anticipatory steps to unravel congestion and prevent traffic accidents. One of the strategies implemented is the formation of a traffic jam team consisting of joint policewomen (women's police) and Kowad (Indonesian Women's Corps) personnel in several rest areas which are predicted to experience congestion.
"Later they will carry out a sweeper in front to smooth and attract traffic flow. The first goal is to increase the driver's reaction time because many drivers experience fatigue and saturation points," he said.
He added that intensive patrols will be carried out, especially during the accident-prone period from 00.00 to 06.00 WIB. The speed of vehicles on toll roads is also a special concern for his party.
"So, I still appeal, even though the toll road is smooth, it is speed up to 120 kilometers per hour, but I remind you that it should be 100 kilometers per hour which is the fastest. So, if you really want to get to your destination quickly," he said.
Meanwhile, the West Java Regional Police will also impose a ban on large three-axis vehicles to pass on toll roads and arteries from March 24 to April 8, 2025. However, basic food logistics vehicles and two-axis trucks are still allowed to operate.

This policy is a preventive measure for the safety of road users and prevents vehicle congestion ahead of the 2025 Eid homecoming flow.
"Because the vehicle that is overloaded has the potential to damage its braking system if it occurs out of control or things that are not desirable. Well, this is what we really don't expect," said Dodi.
