Ahead of the plenary ratification of the TNI Bill today, the public is still calling for rejection. In fact, several people spent the night setting up a tent in front of the gates of Pancasila, the DPR RI Building on Jalan Gelora, Tanah Abang, Central Jakarta.

A person claiming to be from the Civil Society Coalition admitted that he had occupied the front of the Pancasila gate starting at 24.00 WIB. There were approximately 30 people who were 'camping' to keep the TNI Bill from being passed in the middle of the night.

"We from ordinary civil society, we have occupied the (front gate, red) Pancasila building from around 12 o'clock until now, and our goal is to occupy buildings and camping like that to block the running of government elites in passing the TNI Bill," said someone who was on guard in front of the Pancasila gate. , Senayan, Jakarta, Thursday, March 20.

He said the civil society guarding in front of the Pancasila gate focused on blocking the streets of the elites. His party also wants to call for that there are many alternative ways to freedom of opinion and expression. Because, according to the mapping, there will be many roads blocked ahead of the ratification of the TNI Bill in the DPR.

"So the reason we came sooner was that we saw the pattern of the omnibus law yesterday, that there was a secret ratification in the middle of the night. One of the things we were worried about would happen," he said.

"But it turns out that we don't know if the ratification has been completed or not, whether it's half past 10 or not, only what is certain is that our goal here is to participate in issuing our opinion and rejecting the TNI Bill itself," he added.

Sebelumnya, Wakil Ketua Komisi I DPR RI Dave Akbarshah Fikarno (Dave Laksono) mengatakan, pembahasan rancangan Undang-Undang tentang Tentara Nasional Indonesia (RUU TNI) sudah final sehingga bisa disahkan dalam rapat paripurna yang digelar hari ini, Kamis, 20 Maret.

Diketahui, delapan fraksi di Komisi I DPR sudah menyepakati perubahan UU TNI pada pembicaraan tingkat I kemarin.
