DENPASAR - PT. PLN (Persero) Bali's Main Distribution Unit (UID) has alerted 1,058 personnel and 135 units of Public Electric Vehicle Charging Stations (SPKLU) spread across 78 locations in Bali to oversee the celebration of Nyepi and Eid Al-Fitr 2025.
Senior Manager of Communication and General Affairs of PT PLN (Persero) UID Bali Hamidi Hamid said the current electricity condition of the Bali subsystem is normal and safe with a power capable of reaching 1,388 MW and the peak load prediction reaches 904 MW on March 31.
"The highest peak load ever achieved in February 2025 was 1,189 MW with a power reserve of 198 MW," he said, Tuesday, March 18.
Meanwhile, on Nyepi Day and before Nyepi, it is estimated that it will reach 883 MW so that there is a power reserve of 505 MW.
He explained that the decline was generally due to a decrease in the use of electricity due to national holidays which resulted in government offices, schools, and industries taking holidays during the religious holiday period.
With this condition, according to him, the supply of electricity reserves in Bali is considered very sufficient to meet the needs of the community during the long holiday period to come.
However, to support the smooth escort of electricity supply during this upcoming religious holiday, PLN has set a standby period from March 17 to April 11, 2025.
PLN also alerted 1,058 personnel consisting of PLN employees and partners.
In addition, supporting equipment such as 81 units consisting of UPS, generators, and UGB as well as 97 operational vehicles have also been prepared. PLN also ensures the availability of sufficient spare materials to anticipate possible electrical disturbances.
As part of the anticipatory measure, PLN sets up standby posts in 90 strategic locations, including distribution alert posts, UP2B, Bali UPT, generation, Icon+, and homecoming alert posts. These posts will operate for 24 hours to monitor and respond quickly in the event of a power failure.
During that standby period, there were 96 important locations that became the focus during the implementation of Nyepi and Eid al-Fitr, including places of worship, fields, and transportation facilities. This mapping is carried out to ensure that electricity supply in vital locations is maintained.
Meanwhile, specifically for the Nusa Penida subsystem, PLN noted that the power was able to reach 16.2 MW with a peak load of 14.7 MW. Thus, the power reserves in the area are still safe.
"For the Nusa Penida subsystem for the 2025 Nyepi Celebration, we have not been able to provide information because we are still waiting for the agreement on the results of the Nusa Penida Forkompinda meeting, PHDI Nusa Penida and the Nusa Penida Traditional Village Council. PLN will basically follow whatever decision from the meeting is made," Hamidi said when asked about the potential for blackouts in Nusa Penida, reported by ANTARA.
Not only the reliability of electricity, PLN also ensures the availability and feasibility of 135 units of Public Electric Vehicle Charging Stations (SPKLU) spread across 78 locations in Bali.
This step is to ensure the convenience of electric vehicle users during the holidays.
