JAKARTA - A young man was arrested by Polda Metro Jaya because he was caught carrying a roll of marijuana. When arrested, the perpetrator took part in a convoy of hundreds of supporters of Persija Jakarta aka Jakmania at the HI Roundabout on Sunday, April 25 yesterday.

"Just one roll earlier. That was when he was arrested he threw it away. I saw when he stopped he dumped it," said Karo Ops Polda Metro Jaya, Kombes Marsudianto, quoted from Antara, Monday, April 26.

The Jakmania crowd had to be disbanded by officers because of a number of violations and did not heed the officers' requests to disperse.

"There were also many who were caught carrying marijuana, there was one of them, then it was because the exhaust was noisy and he was invited to disperse, he didn't want to, it was still annoying (difficult to control, ed), that's what we will take action, "he added.

During the dispersal, the police also secured a number of people, but have not specified the number.

A number of youths who were arrested are currently still witnesses, but if a violation is found, the perpetrator will be subject to sanctions according to the rules.

The police are currently also investigating the party who spread the invitation to Jakmania to convoy and gather at the HI Roundabout.

"We are conducting an investigation, whether there are parties who deliberately invite Jakmania supporters to join the HI Roundabout. Of course what is certain is that this kind of gathering has violated the PPKM," he said.
