Vice President: Young Generation And Technology Key To Economic Growth

JAKARTA - Vice President Gibran Rakabuming Raka said the younger generation and technological acceleration that can be utilized properly are the keys to realizing 8 percent and Astacita economic growth.

"We must fully support Astacita. Demographic bonuses must be captured and we must all be able to synergize with the government. Young people must support and join hands," said Vice President Gibran at the Iftar with the Central Board of the Indonesian Young Entrepreneurs Association (BPP Hipmi) in Jakarta, Monday, March 17, reported by ANTARA.

Vice President Gibran said Indonesia's demographic bonus in the 2020-2030 period was an opportunity that must be utilized properly because the majority of the population was at a productive age.

This is our opportunity to increase domestic productivity and opportunities towards Golden Indonesia. I remind you that this opportunity only comes once and does not happen again. Those who can go there are those who work hard, focus and dare to make jumps," he said.

According to him, at the same time Indonesia is also in various world challenges such as geopolitical turmoil, to an energy crisis.

The Vice President assessed that this is where young people with all their innovations have an important role.

This is a big challenge and not easy to face. To deal with it, innovation, new breakthroughs and usually the best and "out of the box" are young people. Moreover, technological advances cannot be avoided anymore," said Gibran.

In addition, the Vice President also invited young entrepreneurs in Hipmi to participate and be involved in advancing national economic growth.

Hipmi is one of the associations that has a strategic role for national economic growth. Focus on labor-intensive industries, and don't forget to collaborate with fishermen, farmers, MSMEs and support technological advances and downstreaming," said Gibran.

"With downstreaming, we will increase the added value of the country, open the widest possible employment opportunities, and exit the middle income trap. Then in carrying it out we must prioritize environmental, social and sustainability aspects," he said.
