The Suspect Who Killed Mother And Child In Tambora Burned Cigarettes For 15 Minutes After Killing The Victim's Life

JAKARTA - Febri Arifin alias Ari alias Jamet alias Beben alias Kris Martoyo (31), a suspect in the murder of a mother and child in Tambora had set fire to cigarettes after executing the lives of the two victims at his home.

After killing the victim Tjong Sioe Lan alias Enci (59), the perpetrator cleaned the scattered blood.

"The perpetrator tried to calm himself down by smoking for 15 minutes in front of the house," said West Jakarta Metro Police Chief, Kombes Twedi Aditya Bennyahdi, Thursday, March 13, 2025.

The perpetrator then entered the bathroom and attacked victim Eka Serlawati (35) by hitting her head with iron. The iron was also used to kill Enci.

Victim Eka had screamed for help before finally being beaten again and strangled to death by the suspect Febri.

After the two victims died, the perpetrators put their bodies in a water tendent under the refrigerator, then cleaned the remaining blood at the scene.

To eliminate traces, the suspect turned off the house lights and pretended to be an electric worker when he met the reporter, Roni Effendy, who was the second victim's younger brother.

In the dark and wearing a mask, the perpetrator said that the mother and sister of the complainant were leaving the house.

After the complainant left the location, the perpetrator took the money that was previously to be doubled and left the house by locking the door and gate from the inside.

The suspect also threw away evidence, including the cellphone resulting from the crime on the Kali Jodoh embankment, West Jakarta.

The perpetrator then fled to the Cirebon area, West Java and threw away the victim's Infinix cellphone. Then the perpetrator continued his escape to Banyumas.

Jamet was finally arrested by members of the West Jakarta Metro Police in less than 2x24 hours near a reservoir in the Banyumas area.

The condition of the perpetrator resembles the homeless. However, members of the Police still managed to identify it based on information on the characteristics obtained previously. When arrested, the perpetrator did not provide resistance.
