TANGERANG Propam Banten Police conducted an investigation regarding the upload of a viral photo on social media showing a young man holding a cellphone and allegedly playing slot gambling. The photo was uploaded by the account X @Herloebss who said that the person in the photo was a member of the police.

"The Instagram post of the Pasar Kemis Police, Tangerang Regency, has become a topic of conversation among netizens. In the post, one of the suspected police officers holding his cellphone was on and a picture was seen allegedly playing online gambling slots," the account wrote on Wednesday, March 12.

The Head of the Pasar Kemis Police, AKP Syamsul Bahri, stated that the Banten Police Propam had made direct clarifications to the field. After the investigation, it was revealed that the person who was holding the cellphone was not a member of the police.

"Yes, there has been clarification from the Banten Police Propam team. They have gone to the field, and we have explained and summoned the community concerned that the person is not a member of the police," said Syamsul on Wednesday, March 12.

According to Syamsul, the incident began when a group of residents reported a youth association suspected of fighting. At that time, members of the police were gathered and invited to take photos together by the youths.

"So, that night he gave information about a group of young people who were suspected of being involved in a brawl. Incidentally, at that time our members were gathered and then invited to take a photo together," he explained.

Syamsul emphasized that the results of the examination showed that the young man who was holding the cellphone was not playing online gambling. The image seen on the cellphone screen is only a wallpaper or background, not an online gambling slot game.

"So it's not playing slots, it's just wallpaper. From the results of the examination we did earlier, it's clear," said Syamsul.

Furthermore, Syamsul mentioned that the resident with the initials C who used the wallpaper only used it for entertainment. "From the inspection, it's just for fun. From the results of the interim examination, there is no indication that he is playing slot gambling," he added.
