31 Prisoners Still Wandering After Escape From Kutacane Prison

JAKARTA - Dozens of inmates or inmates escaped from the Kutacane Southeast Aceh Correctional Institution (Lapas), Aceh. Recent developments, 21 of them have been recaptured.

"The latest update of 52 inmates who fled, 21 people have been arrested and surrendered," said Head of Public Relations and Protocol at the Directorate General of Corrections (Ditjenpas) of the Ministry of Immigration and Corrections, Rika Aprianti, when confirmed, Wednesday, March 12.

It said that of the dozens of prisoners who had been rectified, some of them surrendered. In fact, some were delivered directly by his family to return to Kutacane Prison.

"There was even his family directly who took them back to prison," he said.

Currently in thisc, there are about 31 inmates who are still roaming freely. They are still being hunted for their whereabouts so that they can be immediately secured again.

Previously, it was reported that the Minister of Immigration and Corrections (Imipas) Agus Andrianto stated that his party was still investigating the factors causing or triggering the prisoners to escape from Kutacane Prison.

However, from the information received, the inmates asked that their food budget allotment be equalized with inmates at the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) detention center.

It is undeniable, said Agus, that there are several classifications of food costs for prisoners. The value is from Rp. 18,000 to Rp. 22,000.

"What is currently developing is because you eat, asking for the same quota as the one from the KPK. Indeed, there are several classifications here, some are Rp. 18,000 per day, some are Rp. 20,000, some are Rp. 22,000," said Agus.

The escape of dozens of inmates occurred on Monday, March 10 before breaking the fast. Some of them fled through the main door and some from the roof of the prison.
