Enthusiastic MBG In Papua: Efforts To Create A Healthy And Smart Generation

The Head of the Mimika Regency Education Office, Jeni Ohestina Usmany, socialized the priority program for Free Nutrition Food (MBG) at the Baptist Elementary School (SD).

TIMIKA - Children in the Baptist Elementary School (SD), Timika, Central Papua, stated that they are ready to accept Free Nutrition Food (MBG) which is President Prabowo Subianto-Vice President Gibran Rakabuming Raka's priority program.

A 4th grade elementary school student, Regina, aspires to become a doctor, saying, to realize these ideals, she must eat healthy.

"Sa (me)pu (has) the dream of becoming a doctor. Sa wants to be given free food by Pak Prabowo so that he can become a doctor. Sa must be healthy to be a doctor, thank you, Pak Prabowo," he said in Timika on Monday.

At around 09.00 WIT, the Principal of Pitirina Kogoya Baptist Elementary School together with the Head of the Mimika Regency Education Office, Central Papua Province, Jeni Ohestina Usmany, had prepared and guided the children in grades 1 to 6 to welcome the Special Staff of the Minister of Defense (Menhan) for the Sovereignty of the Unitary State of the Republic of Indonesia, Lenis Kogoya, who socialized the priority program.

"All brothers and sisters must continue to be enthusiastic about achieving their goals, and if their dreams are to be achieved, they must eat healthy, have a healthy breakfast, are they happy if they can eat Free Nutritious from the President?" asked Lenis when she was present at the location at around 10.30 WIB.

All 6th grade students who were first called by Lenis answered simultaneously, "Glad!"

In addition to socializing the MBG program, Lenis also provided several questions as well as quizzes memorizing Pancasila. Students who dare to advance and successfully recite the five precepts of Pancasila properly get a prize in the form of a sum of money.

Principal of Baptist Elementary School, Pitirina Kogoya, said there were at least 80 students at the school she leads, with nine teachers teaching every day.

According to him, the MBG program really helps parents in the Mimika Regency area because they will also receive education about healthy and balanced nutritional patterns for their children.

"Most of the children at this school have breakfast every day, but maybe not all understand or understand what kind of nutrition is right for their children, so MBG is very useful, we are ready to accept MBG from the President," Pitirina said.

After visiting the Baptist Elementary School, Lenis left for the Eme Neme Yauware Building, Timika, Central Papua Province.

In the hall which was attended by school principals, traditional community leaders, and representatives of the Mimika Regency Government, Lenis invited all levels of society to collaborate with each other and support the MBG program.

"Mimika must be an example. We entrust all these school mothers to cook MBG for our children, coordinate with the National Nutrition Agency, we make our children have a better future," he said.
