JAKARTA A trailer truck hit a public street lighting pole (PJU) and traffic signs on Jalan Cilandak Timur, Pasar Minggu, South Jakarta, on Thursday, March 6, at 16.41 WIB.

This incident allegedly occurred because the truck's body was caught in a utility cable when it came out of the Cibis area, plus the brakes failed so that the driver lost control.

Trucks Stuck in Cables and Infunctional Brakes Head of South Jakarta Transportation Sub-dept., Bernard Oktavianus Pasaribu, revealed that the truck exited Cibis through the leftmost door and the top was caught in a cable.

"The brakes failed so that the vehicle could not be stopped. As a result, the truck hit two poles, one traffic sign and one public street lighting pole (PJU)," explained Bernard, Thursday, March 6.

No Victims, But Had Caused Congestion

Luckily, there were no fatalities in this accident, including the driver who survived unharmed. However, this incident caused congestion around the location.

"The traffic flow had stalled, but after the handling was completed, traffic returned to normal," said South Jakarta Metro Police Traffic Head, Kompol Agung Wuryanto.

Drivers Are Subjected To Administrative Sanctions

After the incident, the truck and driver were immediately evacuated. As a follow-up, the driver was subject to administrative sanctions and his vehicle documents were detained.

"We have detained the driver's letters, and the person concerned is willing to be responsible for repairing the damage caused," added Bernard.

With the quick handling of the police and the Transportation Agency, the traffic situation at the location is now back to smooth.
