Instant Karma, Serep Tire Thief Almost Beaten By Mobs After Stealing Other People's Car Tires On Tangerang-Merak Toll Road

TANGERANG A viral video on social media showed a black Avanza car being damaged by a truck driver after the owner was caught trying to steal the victim's spare tire.

The video was uploaded by the @Jabodetabek24info.id account and shows the Avanza car parked on the shoulder of the Tangerang-Merak Km 36 Toll Road, Tangerang Regency.

Head of PJR Serang Korlantas Polri, Kompol Deny Yuda, confirmed that the incident occurred on Thursday, March 6, in the morning.

The perpetrator's mode: Pretending to help According to Deny, initially the perpetrator used an Avanza car and pretended to offer assistance to the victim who was changing his car tire. However, when the victim was careless, the perpetrator actually tried to steal the spare tire.

"The perpetrator pretended to help the victim, but actually intended to steal the spare tire," said Deny when confirmed, Thursday, March 6.

Failed To Escape Because The Car Was Strike

Luckily, the victim immediately became aware of the action, so the perpetrator immediately fled. However, his attempt to escape failed because the car used suffered engine failure and broke down at the scene.

"Because the victim's actions were known, the perpetrator tried to escape. However, the car they were using suffered damage to the tires and was eventually left at the location," said Deny.

The police then secured the vehicle left by the perpetrator. Deny added that for further processing, the community can coordinate with the Cikupa Police, because his party is only tasked with securing the vehicle involved in the incident.

"PJR officers received reports and secured the car suspected of being used in the theft. For follow-up, it can be confirmed to the Cikupa Police," he concluded.
