JAKARTA - The DKI Jakarta DPRD has formed a special committee (pansus) for the management of regional property or assets. Chairman of the DKI Jakarta DPRD Khoirudin said the asset special committee would check the realization of developer obligations, including in the reclamation island area.

The DPRD, continued Khoirudin, will ensure that developers have submitted public social facilities (fasos-fasum) as their obligations to the DKI Provincial Government.

"This also includes assets in the reclamation area. I will go directly to the field to determine how much land the developer has to do to hand over to the local government and where it is located," said Khoirudin in his statement, Wednesday, March 5.

Khoirudin admitted that he would collect the Regional Asset Management Agency (BPAD) to explain the certainty of the social-fasum facilities that are the right of the DKI Provincial Government from the use of reclamation land.

"I have coordinated regarding the social and public facilities on the Island of Reclamation. There is a part that is the right of the local government, and I will directly ask BPAD about its area and the progress of its submission," he explained.

Meanwhile, Chairman of Commission A of the DKI Jakarta DPRD, Inggad Joshua, explained the reasons for the formation of an asset special committee by the legislature. Inggad assessed that the special committee of assets will overcome the problem of regional asset management which has been frequently misused.

If the asset problem is solved, it will be able to increase regional income as well as save assets that have not been properly managed by the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government.

"The formation of this Special Committee is very necessary because of problems that cause fraud. This is important to increase regional retribution and save regional assets," said Inggard.

One of the problems pursued by the special committee is property assets that have been completed by developers. However, until now it has not been submitted to the local government, it has even been going on for decades.

Many developers have completed and even embezzled assets that must be handed over. The value reaches tens of trillions of rupiah, assets that have not been managed by the local government," he explained.

The Asset Special Committee, he continued, will cooperate with the mayors and with legal officials to collect the obligations of these developers. With the establishment of the Asset Special Committee, it is hoped that regional income can increase significantly, approaching the target of IDR 100 trillion.

"The enforcement of the regulation needs to be our common concern and must be taken seriously so that these assets are handed over to the Regional Asset Management Agency (BPAD)," he added.
