Hamas Welcomes Gaza Reconstruction Plan Adopted By Arab Summit In Egypt

JAKARTA - militant group Palestin Hamas welcomed the reconstruction plan for the Gaza Strip adopted at the emergency Arab summit in Cairo, Egypt on Tuesday.

Hamas also supported calls for the summit to boycott Israel politically and economically.

In a statement after the meeting, Hamas said the summit marked significant steps towards Arab and Islamic alignment with the Palestinian struggle, especially amid Israel's continuing attacks and relocation efforts in Gaza, the West Bank and Jerusalem, as reported by Anadolu March 5.

The group praised Arab leaders for rejecting efforts to move Palestinians or undermine their national struggles, calling it a historic message, the second Nakba, or torture, will not be allowed to occur.

Furthermore, Hamas also welcomed calls for a commercial and political boycott of Israel, describing it as "a very effective strategic step to isolate Israel and pressure it to comply with international law."

The militant group also expressed its support for the adoption of reconstruction plans and urged all measures to ensure its success.

They praised Egypt's efforts in preparing for an international reconstruction conference and supported the formation of a community support committee to oversee Gaza's aid, reconstruction and governance as part of the Palestinian state.
