Trapped In 4 Meters Of Floods, One Family In Cawang Refuges On The Roof Of Loteng Before Being Evacuated

JAKARTA One family head on Jalan Cililitan Kecil 3, Cawang Village, Kramat Jati, East Jakarta, was forced to flee on the roof of their roof of their house due to a 4 meter high flood that hit the area.

East Jakarta Firefighters (Gulkarmat) immediately evacuated using rubber boats to save trapped families. The rescue process was carried out from inside the alley of a resident's house which had been submerged in water.

"The victim was successfully evacuated safely," said the rescue officer of the East Jakarta Gulkarmat Sub-dept., Tuesday, March 4.

The floods that hit this area were caused by heavy rains that continued to pour, so that the water overflowed and inundated residential areas.

As many as 30 firefighters were deployed in this rescue operation, which is divided into five teams. To date, the total number of residents who have been successfully evacuated from the flood site has reached 30 people.

From observations at the location, until 16.12 WIB, officers were still searching and evacuating flood-affected residents in the area of Jalan Cililitan Kecil 3, Cawang.
