Palembang SAR team, South Sumatra, is looking for three victims who were missing due to the sinking boat in the Rawas River, Musi Rawas Utara, South Sumatra.

Head of the Palembang SAR Office, Raymond Konstain, said that his party received a report today at around 06:00 WIB.

The incident began on Monday, March 3, 2025, at around 18.45 WIB. A ride boat headed by Deni Ariansyah carried six passengers from Beringin Makmur II Village to Beringin Makmur I Village to break the fast.

While on the way, the boat suddenly swerved and capsized, causing the captain and all passengers to fall into the river.

From this incident, four people on behalf of Debi Ariansyah (26/Lk/Nakhoda), Eko Nurdian (31), Ahmad Riduan (28) and Adis (26) managed to survive by swimming to the riverbank.

Meanwhile, three other passengers on behalf of Rapik alias Mael (40), Brata (30) and Iqbal (36) were suspected of not being able to swim, causing their bodies to be dragged by the swift currents of the river and immediately drowned.

"Currently, together with the joint SAR team, we are still searching for victims and we are doing the search method by dividing the joint SAR team into two SRUs," he said.

The first SRU conducts a search by sweeping the surface of the water using rubber boats and community boats, while the second SRU if possible will dive at the initial location of the incident and locations suspected of having victims and by disseminating information to people on the coast of the Rawas River.

"Hopefully with these various efforts the victims can be found soon," concluded Raymond.

Meanwhile, during the SAR operation, SAR elements from the Palembang SAR Office of the Lubuk Linggau SAR Post, TNI/Polri, Tagana Muratara, BPBD Muratara and the community also involved SAR.
