Agus Cik's Murder At The Miwang River Bridge Was Triggered By A Revenge Motive, The Perpetrator Was Annoyed To Continue To Seek Debt

OKU - Satreskrim Polres Ogan Komering Ulu (OKU) Timur, South Sumatra, revealed a murder case at the Miwang River Bridge, Minanga Tengah Village, Semendawa Barat District against victim Agus Cik (56) by arresting the perpetrator with the initials DA (30).

East OKU Police Chief AKBP Kevin Leleury said suspect DA, a resident of Minanga Tengah Village, Semendawa Barat District, East OKU Regency was arrested in Merangin Regency, Jambi Province on February 26 at 17.00 WIB.

He explained that the murder incident that occurred on February 8, 2025 was motivated by the motive between the perpetrators and the victim.

"The victim often forces the perpetrator to seek money debt, but never wants to pay," he explained in Martapura, South Sumatra, Antara, Tuesday, March 4.

Before launching the action, the suspect lured the victim out of the house with the help of a friend of the perpetrator with the initials MP who is currently still being hunted by officers.

Arriving at the scene of the incident (TKP), the perpetrator immediately poured hard water on the victim's face, then hit the head using a stick until the victim fell from the bridge and died instantly.

"The victim's body was found by residents under the Miwang River Bridge, Minanga Tengah Village, in a pathetic condition," he said.

For his actions, DA was charged with Article 340 of the Criminal Code regarding premeditated murder with the threat of death penalty, life imprisonment, or a maximum of 20 years.

In addition, the suspect was also charged with Article 338 of the Criminal Code with a penalty of 15 years in prison and Article 351 Paragraph (3) of the Criminal Code which regulates acts of persecution with a penalty of up to 7 years in prison.
