Tangerang-Jaksel Route Via Ciledug Terdepat, Vehicles Desperately Crossing Ended In Strike

TANGERANG Tangerang road to South Jakarta via Ciledug was cut off due to flooding. The puddle of water on Jalan KH. Hasyim Ashari, Tangerang City, reached a height of 30-40 cm or as high as an adult's calf, making it difficult for vehicles to pass.

Monitoring at the location showed that only large four-wheeled vehicles were able to pass through the route. Meanwhile, a number of minibuses that forced themselves to pass suffered engine damage and broke down in the middle of the road. Most of the motorbike riders chose to turn around, although some were still trying to go but eventually broke down in the middle of a puddle of water.

Dozens of joint officers from the Tangerang City BPBD and the police were seen on guard at the location. They closed the road with a barrier as a sign that the route to South Jakarta via Ciledug could not be passed.

A motorcyclist, Rendi, admitted that he was desperate to break through the flood in the hope that he could get through the puddle if he was together with a four-wheeled vehicle. However, he finally had to accept the fate of his vehicle breaking down in the middle of the road.

"Earlier I tried to get in the car, but I was left behind and finally broke down," said Rendi when met at the location on Tuesday (March 4).

Rendi, who is on his way home from Jakarta to his home in Cipondoh, Tangerang City, now has to find other ways to continue his journey. Meanwhile, officers continue to urge motorists not to force themselves to cross the flooded route to avoid vehicle damage and accidents.
