Chased By Police, 82 Packages Of Cannabis Dealers Hit Cliff In West Pasaman

JAKARTA - The police arrested a drug dealer of dried marijuana ready to circulate with 82 packages of evidence.

"The perpetrator with the initials TH (42) was arrested after the car he was driving was successfully intercepted on the Padang Kadok Nagari Bandua Balai public road, Kinali District, West Pasaman Regency, Saturday (1 March) at around 05.30 WIB," said West Pasaman Police Chief AKBP Agung Tribawanto at Simpang Empat, Sunday, February 2, confiscated by Antara.

According to him, a black Daihatsu Terios private car number BB-1797-HC carrying marijuana narcotics was also secured.

Previously, members of the West Sumatra Police's Narcotics Directorate would pursue a black Terios car suspected of carrying drugs from the direction of Kinali to the city of Padang.

Receiving this information, the Police Chief immediately ordered the Head of the Kinali Police, AKP Alfian Nurman and his personnel to back up members of the West Sumatra Police Narcotics Directorate.

Arriving at the public road, to be precise near the Padang Kadok Kinali bridge, officers immediately blocked it. However, according to him, the perpetrator's car stopped and immediately withdrew, then turned around towards Simpang Empat.

About 50 meters from the crime scene (TKP) when officers were blocking, the car driven by the perpetrator swayed and hit a cliff.

The perpetrators were known to be two people. They fled towards the residents' oil palm plantation after their car hit a cliff on the edge of Padang Kadok Kinali public road.

Furthermore, the Head of the Kinali Police, AKP Alfian Nurman, together with a team from the West Sumatra Police Narcotics Directorate conducted a joint search by tracing the community's oil palm plantation area.

After chasing in the oil palm plantation for approximately 4 hours, his party managed to arrest one of the perpetrators with the initials TH, while another perpetrator was still being chased by officers.

He explained that the perpetrators were residents of Batang Boru, South Tapanuli Regency, North Sumatra.

During a search of the car, it was found that the dried marijuana-type narcotics ready for distribution had been packaged were put in 4 sacks.

During the search, he said, a number of local residents also witnessed.

Based on the results of the initial interrogation of the perpetrators, the dried marijuana type narcotics were purchased from someone in Penyabungan, North Sumatra. Meanwhile, Daihatsu Terios car number BB-1797-HC was rental from South Tapanuli Regency.

It was revealed that the evidence found in each sack contained 26 packages, 4 packages, 20 packages, and 32 packages. Thus, the total evidence of dried marijuana was 82 packages, and one Daihatsu Terios car number BB-1797-HC.

"Currently, the perpetrators and evidence are brought to the West Sumatra Police Narcotics Directorate in Padang for further investigation," he said.
