Rizieq Shihab Breaks The Indictment Of The Prosecutor, Did I Ask Not To Wear A Mask, Witness: None

JAKARTA - Rizieq Shihab admits that he invited sympathizers and scholars to come to the Prophet's birthday, which was held in Petamburan. But he denied that he had discussed his sympathizers.

This was conveyed by Rizieq Shihab when he questioned the witness of the Police Chief of Tebet, Kompol Budi Cahyono, a private employee of Cecep Sutisna, and a member of Babhinkantibmas Tebet Timur Tamam. Rizieq asked whether the invitation was accompanied by an invitation not to apply health protocols.

"My question is, have you heard me say let's not wear a mask, is there Mr. Budi, the question is there or not?" asked Rizieq during a trial at the East Jakarta District Court, Thursday, April 22.

Then, Rizieq also touched on the question of whether the witnesses heard his words which incited sympathizers to disobey the health program. The three witnesses agreed to answer none.

After asking these questions, Rizieq explained the reasons behind it all. He said he wanted to straighten out if there were no incitement sentences as stated in the indictment.

"Once again, did I incite the public to go against the rules or did I invite, not incite, invite yes, I am sure Pak Budi, Pak Tamam, Pak Cecep. When asking about a prosecutor next door, it is inserted inviting, inviting, inciting, that is very dangerous, "he said.

Meanwhile, Rizieq Shihab was charged with incitement to the appearance of a crowd at his daughter's wedding as well as commemorating the Prophet's birthday in Petamburan, Central Jakarta. This crowd is taking place in the midst of the COVID-19 Pandemic.

So that in this case, Rizieq was charged with violating Article 160 of the Criminal Code in conjunction with Article 93 of Law Number 6 of 2018 concerning Health Quarantine in conjunction with Article 55 paragraph 1 to 1 of the Criminal Code and or Article 82 paragraph 1 in conjunction with Article 59 paragraph 3 letters c and d Law Number 16 Year 2017 concerning Community Organization in conjunction with Article 55 paragraph 1 to 1 of the Criminal Code in conjunction with Article 10 letter b of the Criminal Code in conjunction with Article 35 paragraph 1 of the Criminal Code.
