Suspensing 30 Days, Mardi Waluya Cibinong Junior High School Gives Strict Sanctions To Students Perpetrators Of Beatings

BOGOR SD Mardi Waluya Cibinong Bogor sanctioned 30 days of suspension of Reynardwas Sudirja after he was involved in a beating incident during a basketball match between students in Bogor.

Middle School principal Mardi Waluya Cibinong, Rina Astuti, emphasized that this sanction aims to provide a deterrent effect and prevent similar incidents in the future.

"We realize that this action must receive strict sanctions in order to become a lesson for the student concerned and also prevent similar incidents from happening again in the future," said Rina Astuti in her statement, Monday, February 24.

Based on the results of mediation and agreements with the victim's family, the school has set several sanctions for students involved.

The sanctions given are in the form of a suspension for 30 days with a strong warning. During the suspension period, students are required to take part in a coaching program that includes emotional, psychological, and character coaching training," explained Rina.

In addition, Reynard was also expelled from the basketball team and was prohibited from participating in basketball extracurricular activities while he was still a student at Mardi Waluya Cibinong Middle School.

"If the student concerned commits acts of violence again, then he will be expelled from school," he added.

Rina emphasized that schools will continue to monitor student development during the suspension period to ensure the effectiveness of the coaching program.

Parents are also encouraged to coordinate with schools and psychologists to help children manage their emotions and behavior better.

In addition to sanctions against students, schools also take firm action against basketball coach, SMN, who is considered to have involvement in this incident. The coach was officially dismissed as of February 21, 2025.

"We believe that coaches have an important role in shaping students' mentality and behavior, both on and off the pitch," said Rina.

The school affirms its commitment to creating a safe and conducive environment for all students.

"We hope that this incident will be a valuable lesson for all parties so that together we can protect the better school environment," concluded Rina Astuti.

SD Mardi Waluya Cibinong promised to continue monitoring and provide further information if necessary to ensure improvement steps run optimally.

Previously, a student of SD Mardi Waluya Cibinong, Reynard totaling Sudirja, was caught on camera beating a head on the head of a SMPN 1 Bogor student with the initials S in an inter-school basketball match. The video of this incident went viral on social media.

The beating was widespread after a celebrity named Foren uploaded the chronology of events through his Instagram account, @fodelba. In his upload, Foren shared that his nephew, S, was brutally beaten by Reynard, which sparked public attention.
