Merauke Becomes A National Food Barn: President Prabowo's Strategic Steps In Papua

JAKARA - The National Resilience Program run in the administration of President Prabowo Subianto, especially in the Papua region, is considered to have a direct impact on the local community. Moreover, regarding the Merauke election as a food barn area.

The Papuan Youth Leader who also serves as the General Chair of the Papuan Youth DPP appreciates and fully supports the National Food Security policy.

"In this case, we want to give appreciation and support to President Prabowo Subianto who has designated Merauke district as a national food barn area," said Gifli Buiney to reporters, Monday, February 24.

In addition, the decision regarding the election of Merauke City as one of the food barn areas is also considered appropriate. This is because the condition of the area's land is fertile with a good climate.

"Of course, the determination of Merauke district as a national food barn is due to several factors, the first is the area or large agricultural land, then the fertile land and the good climate, so that the determination of Merauke district as a national food barn, we think that this is the right step that has been taken by Mr. President Prabowo Subianto," he said.

Gifli hopes that the stipulation of Merauke as one of the national food barn areas can have a direct impact on the local community to create economic improvements and overall equity.

"Of course we as youth hope that the Merauke area or Merauke district is designated as a national food barn area, which is a good step which can then have an impact on local communities and Papuan land because whatever the government program must then have an impact on local communities," he said.

According to him, the program could not run well, the ball did not get support from the community, especially Papuan youths. Thus, the targets that have been set can be met.

"We all have to support and oversee the program, so that the impact of this program can help change the economy of the Papuan people for the better and the Papuan people have good food security," said Gifli.
