KPK Duga Hasto Gathers Witnesses In Harun Masiku's Case So That It's Not Honest To Give Information

The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) suspects that the Secretary General of the PDI-P (PDIP) Hasto Kristiyanto has gathered witnesses in the DPR's interim replacement bribery (PAW) case for the 2019-2024 period that ensnared former PDIP candidate Harun Masiku. Hasto allegedly asked a number of these people to speak dishonestly in front of investigators.

"Brother HK gathered several people related to the Harun Masiku case and directed that these people when summoned by the KPK, do not provide true information," said KPK Chairman Setyo Budiyanto at the KPK's Merah Putih building, Kuningan Persada, South Jakarta, Thursday, February 20.

Setyo suspects that Hasto took this step with the aim of hiding Harun. This case began with a hand arrest operation (OTT) in 2020.

"It is suspected that the action was aimed at obstructing and complicating the ongoing process of investigating the bribery case," said the former Inspector General of the Ministry of Agriculture (Kementan).

Previously reported, PDIP Secretary General Hasto Kristiyanto was officially detained in connection with the bribery case for the interim replacement (PAW) of members of the DPR RI and the obstruction of the investigation. He will occupy the branch of the State Detention Center from the Class I State Detention Center in East Jakarta for 20 days and can be extended according to the needs of investigators.

Hasto was charged with Article 21 of Law Number 31 of 1999 concerning the Eradication of Criminal Acts of Corruption as amended by Law Number 20 of 2001 concerning Amendments to Law Number 31 of 1999 concerning Eradication of Corruption Crimes Jo. Article 55 paragraph (1) 1st of the Criminal Code.

As for the bribery case related to PAW, members of the Indonesian House of Representatives (DPR RI), the process will be carried out stimulus. This is because the investigation warrant (sprindik) issued on December 23, 2024, focuses more on the application of Article 21.
