Hasto Hopes KPK Uses His Case To Be A Momentum To Enforce The Law, Including Dare To Check Jokowi's Family

The Secretary General of the PDI-P (PDIP) Hasto Kristiyanto is ready to undergo the legal process of the bribery case for the interim replacement management (PAW) of members of the DPR and the obstruction of the investigation that ensnared him. He hopes that his case will be a moment of enforcing the law against anyone, including the family of President Joko Widodo (Jokowi).

This was conveyed by Hasto when he was about to be taken to the KPK Detention Center (Rutan) after officially having an orange dream, Thursday, February 20.

"Hopefully this will be a momentum for the Corruption Eradication Commission to enforce the law without exception, including examining Pak Jokowi's family," said Hasto at the KPK's Merah Putih building, Kuningan Persada, South Jakarta.

Hasto ensured that this case was a consequence because he served as secretary general of the party bearing the bull symbol. "I have my head held high ready to accept it," he said.

"So I never regret it, I will continue to fight with the fire of the burning spirit," continued the politician.

The family of President Jokowi has been reported for alleged corruption. One of them is the use of private jets by his son, Kaesang Pangarep and his son-in-law Bobby Nasution when he served as Mayor of Medan.

In addition, Bobby's name also appeared at the trial of former North Maluku Governor Abdul Gani Kasuba. He is associated with the term Block Medan with his wife who is the son of President Jokowi, Kahiyang Ayu.

Previously reported, PDIP Secretary General Hasto Kristiyanto was detained in connection with the bribery case for the interim replacement (PAW) of members of the DPR RI and the obstruction of the investigation. He will occupy the branch of the State Detention Center from the Class I State Detention Center in East Jakarta for 20 days and can be extended according to the needs of investigators.

Hasto was charged with Article 21 of Law Number 31 of 1999 concerning the Eradication of Criminal Acts of Corruption as amended by Law Number 20 of 2001 concerning Amendments to Law Number 31 of 1999 concerning Eradication of Corruption Crimes Jo. Article 55 paragraph (1) 1st of the Criminal Code.

As for the bribery case related to PAW, members of the Indonesian House of Representatives (DPR RI), the process will be carried out stimulus. This is because the investigation warrant (sprindik) issued on December 23, 2024, focuses more on the application of Article 21.
