Good News From Central Sulawesi, Recovering COVID-19 Patients Increase To 11,027 People

JAKARTA - Spokesperson for the Center for Data and Information COVID-19, Central Sulawesi Province, Moh. Haris Kariming said that the number of recovered COVID-19 patients in the province had increased to 11,027 people.

"Today 63 COVID-19 patients have been declared cured so that the cumulative total of COVID-19 patients who recovered in Central Sulawesi is 11,027 people", said Haris in Palu City, as reported by Antara, Thursday, April 22.

He explained that the 63 people were in several areas, including one person in Palu City, eight people in Sigi and North Morowali Regencies, 17 people in Buol, and 29 people in Parigi Moutong.

Those who have recovered, he continued, have been allowed to return home, but must implement health protocols to prevent the transmission and spread of COVID-19 so as not to be re-exposed.

"Meanwhile 26 COVID-19 patients have been confirmed as having been exposed to COVID-19, among others, one person in Palu City, two people in Tolitoli Regency, three people in Sigi, and 20 people in Parigi Moutong. The cumulative total of confirmed patients COVID-19 until this time amounted to 11 947 people", he said.

Also, three COVID-19 patients each one person in Sigi, Poso, and Parigi Moutong were declared dead today, bringing the total number of COVID-19 patients who have died to date totaling 321 people.

"599 COVID-19 patients are currently undergoing quarantine independently and at health service centers owned by the local government. Let's pray that they all recover", he explained.

He asked the public to support the supervisory team of district and city health offices in Central Sulawesi who carried out tracing of people who had contact with positive COVID-19 patients.

Besides, residents must implement health protocols to prevent the transmission and spread of COVID-19.

"Prevention is by wearing masks, washing hands, and keeping a distance and away from crowds. These steps are very important to break the chain of spread and transmission of COVID-19 in Central Sulawesi", he said.
