Polri Prepares Security To Anticipate Takbir Around The Eid Al-Fitr Night

JAKARTA - The Indonesian National Police has instructed all ranks in the regions to prepare security in anticipation of a takbir around (recitation of laudation) on the night of Eid Al-Fitr 1442 Hijriah/2021.

As reported by Antara, Thursday, April 22, Head of the Public Information Bureau of the Public Relations Division of the National Police Brigadier General Rusdi Hartono, when confirmed on Thursday, said that from the beginning there had been an appeal for the community not to do takbir around.

"From now on, and later on the implementation of the apparatus will take to the streets of other relevant officials to take to the streets to be able to secure it", said Rusdi.

The National Police in the area conducted outreach to the public regarding government policies during the month of Ramadan to Eid.

This socialization was carried out in Safety Operations which took place from April 12 to 25, 2021.

"Now, the socialization, socialization to the community so that this takbir around will continue to be carried out", said Rusdi

In the Safety Operation, the National Police also socialized related to the homecoming ban issued by the government through the COVID-19 Task Force Circular Number 13 of 2021.

Regarding security during Ramadan and ahead of Eid Al-Fitr, continued Rusdi, it was discussed in the Cross-Sectoral Coordination Meeting took place at the Rupattama Building, Police Headquarters, Jakarta, Wednesday, April 21.

The cross-sector coordination meeting was attended by the National Police Chief General Listyo Sigit Prabowo, TNI Commander Marshal TNI Hadi Tjahjanto, Minister of Health Budi Gunadi Sadikin, Minister of Transportation, and representatives of the Minister of PUPR, Minister of Trade, and Minister of Religion who followed online.

According to Rusdi, directions on the prohibition policy Homecoming and the ban on takbir around has been heard by all Regional Police and the Regional Leadership Coordination Forum (Forkopimda) who take part in virtual coordination meetings.

"All regional police chiefs participate in online coordination meetings, including Forkopimda, there are governors, there are complete commanders throughout Indonesia virtually present to hear policies what should be done and of course the same policy between related agencies, "said Rusdi.

Previously, the Minister of Religion, Yaqut Cholil Qoumas, said that the community was not allowed to carry out the takbir around which is usually done at the end of Ramadan.

The Minister of Religion said that takbir around carried out in several areas have the potential to cause crowds and open up opportunities for COVID-19 transmission

He said takbir is allowed in mosques or prayer rooms to maintain the health of all parties, but still with a limitation of 50 percent of the capacity of the mosque or prayer room.
