West Java Budget Efficiency Is Still Being Discussed, Acting Governor Guarantees Not To Disturb Public Service Performance

BANDUNG - Acting Governor of West Java Beyxi Machmudin revealed that the efficiency of the budget in West Java is still being discussed to be finalized, with an emphasis not to affect the performance of public services.

The stabbing, said Bey, was carried out in a limited meeting, as a follow-up to the 2025 APBD efficiency plan at the West Java Regional Development Planning Agency (Bappeda) Office, Monday (17/2).

"So the point is that. So the performance should not be reduced, because there is this efficiency and also do not reduce the Main Performance Indicators (IKU). Efficiency yes, but performance must remain maximal," said Bey as quoted by ANTARA.

Regarding the details of the budget that will be streamlined, Bey said that one of the needs for personnel spending is currently directed so that all ASN can work optimally and policy makers do not have the principle to recruit experts for solving problems in the field.

This is in line with the hot topic being discussed in the community after being inaugurated, elected regional heads are prohibited from appointing experts or special staff (stafsus) who aim to prevent the appointment of employees based on political interests.

"The point is to optimize ASN. If it is necessary to transfer knowledge, students as well as ASN friends. Actually, our young ASN are able to exist, we just need to give them the opportunity," he said.

Regarding the impact of efficiency on the procurement of official vehicles, it will not change much.

Considering that since the last few years the West Java Provincial Government has never bought a vehicle, but only leases it to third parties for the purpose of procuring official cars.

"There is no procurement for vehicles, but the demand for vehicles will be met through rental. So in addition to the annual budget, it is lower than the new procurement, and there is also no maintenance cost," said Bey.
