Naughty, Ex-Minister Of Social Juliari Batubara, Orders 'Potek' Subordinates To Fee Social Assistance Rp10 Thousand

JAKARTA - Former Social Minister (Mensos) Juliari Peter Batubara is charged with ordering his men to collect a fee of IDR 10,000 per package of COVID-19 social assistance food packages. The money is collected from the companies that supply goods.

Juliari's order began when he appointed the Acting Director of Social Protection for Social Disaster Victims (PSKBS) of the Ministry of Social Affairs, Adi Wahyono as the Budget User Authority (KPA) in the COVID-19 social assistance procurement project in the Jabodetabek area.

Furthermore, Juliari ordered Adi Wahyono to collect fees to all goods supply companies after officially becoming KPA.

"After the defendant appointed Adi Wahyono as KPA, the defendant ordered Adi Wahyono to collect a fee of Rp.10,000 per package from the provider for the benefit of the defendant," said KPK Prosecutor Ikhsan Fernandi reading the indictment in court at the Tipikor Court, Jakarta, Wednesday, 21 April.

In addition, Juliari also ordered Adi Wahyono to coordinate with the social minister's technical team, Kukuh Ary Wibowo, regarding the implementation of COVID-19 social assistance. So, the order regarding the collection of fees was conveyed to the Secretary General of the Ministry of Social Affairs Hartono Laras, the Director General of Social Security, Pepen Nazaruddin, and the PPK of the Ministry of Social Affairs Matheus Joko Santoso.

"In addition, Matheus Joko Santoso also collected operational fees from social assistance providers for the defendants' operational costs and other activities at the Ministry of Social Affairs," said the prosecutor.

Shortly afterwards, to be precise in July 2020, Juliari ordered Matheus Joko Santoso through Kukuh Ary Wibowo to report the realization of the collection of fees.

"On the report, the defendant asked Adi Wahyono and Matheus Joko Santoso to maximize the collection of fee money from the basic food assistance providers for the next stage," said the prosecutor.

Previously it was reported, Former Minister of Social Affairs Juliari Peter Barubara was charged with accepting bribes worth Rp32.4 billion in the COVID-19 social assistance (bansos) project throughout Jabodetabek. The bribe was received through two of his men.

Based on the indictment, Juliari accepted bribes through Adi Wahyono and Matheus Joko Santoso amounting to Rp1,280 billion from a private party named Harry Van Sidabukke.

Then, Juliari also received money worth Rp1,950 billion from the President Director of PT Tigapilar Agro Utama Ardian Iskandar Maddanatja.

Finally, the indictment also stated that Juliari received money worth Rp.29,252,000,000 or Rp.29.2 billion from several goods providers in the social assistance project.
