SURABAYA - President Prabowo Subianto said there were parties who tried to separate themselves from the 7th President of the Republic of Indonesia Joko Widodo (Jokowi). Prabowo emphasized that he did not care about it and that his relationship with Jokowi remained well established.

"There are those who want to make fun of me and Pak Jokowi. It's funny too, it's okay to laugh, no. We don't participate," Prabowo said in his remarks which was broadcast live on the Presidential Secretariat's YouTube channel.
On that occasion, President Prabowo initially shared his relationship with the elected governor of East Java who is also the General Chair of NU Muslimat Khofifah Indar Parawansa who is not too close.
Prabowo explained that he had just met Khofifah ahead of the 2025 presidential election, which is a mandate from President Jokowi.
"So if it's politics, I will learn from Mr. Jokowi. Don't be shy. Sometimes people who are no longer in power want to be vilified, don't. We respect everyone, respect everyone," Prabowo said as quoted by ANTARA.
Prabowo Subianto emphasized that the practice of synchronizing his relationship with Jokowi was an effort by parties who did not like the unity of the Indonesian nation.
According to Prabowo, this effort is tantamount to the politics of fighting against each other or the divide et impera which became the strategy of the Dutch colonialists to divide the Indonesian nation.
"Diversary, divided are the activities of those who do not like Indonesia. From hundreds of years of divide et impera, it is a strategic tactic to divide the people and the Indonesian nation, there is no need to ignore it," said Prabowo.
Prabowo Subianto was present at the opening of the XVIII Muslimat Nahdlatul Ulama Congress in Surabaya accompanied by Vice President Gibran Rakabuming Raka.
