Stabilize Elpiji Stock, Legislator Urges DKI Provincial Government To Hold Market Operations

In order to stabilize the supply of 3 kilograms of LPG (kg), a member of the DKI DPRD from the PDI-P faction, Hardiyanto Kenneth urged the Department of Transmigration and Energy Manpower (Disnakertransgi) of the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government to conduct market operations.

"I urge the DKI Manpower and Transmigration Office to immediately carry out market operations as a concrete step in preventing scarcity, stabilizing the supply and price of 3 kg LPG," Kenneth said in Jakarta, quoted from ANTARA, Saturday, February 8.

Kenneth suspects that there are a number of naughty people who play such as hoarding and mixing, the price game by retailers and distribution is not on target, resulting in a shortage of 3 kg gas stocks occurring.

In fact, it is clear that President Prabowo Subianto ordered the Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM) Bahlil Lahadalia to overcome the problem of the scarcity of melon gas.

Therefore, the man who is familiarly called Kent asked the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government to cooperate with Pertamina and the Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) Office to carry out market operations to stabilize supply and price of 3 kg LPG.

"The Jakarta Regional Government must cooperate with Pertamina to MSMEs, as well as educate the public not to panic buying and buying LPG as needed, so that this gas supply can be maintained," he said.

Then, Kent stated that he agreed with the statement of the Indonesian Ulema Council (MUI), that the legal prohibition for rich people who use 3 kg LPG gas and subsidized pertalite. Because the two subsidized goods are only intended for the poor.

The government has regulated the distribution of subsidized fuel for certain groups, namely, public transportation and fishermen. Meanwhile, pertalite is for the lower middle class.

Elpiji 3 kg subsidized by the government is only for poor households, micro businesses, fishermen and poor farmers.

In addition, he also asked law enforcement to impose strict sanctions on people who are proven to have misappropriated and hoarded kg LPG to create a deterrent effect on the perpetrators.

Perpetrators can be charged with Article 55 of the Republic of Indonesia Law Number 22 of 2001 concerning Oil and Gas, as amended in Article 55 of the Republic of Indonesia Law Number 11 of 2020 concerning Job Creation, with a maximum threat of 6 years in prison.
