AHY Affirms Democrats Must Be Strong In The Executive And Legislative Lines

JAKARTA - In the Precisement event for the First Pole of the West Java Provincial Democratic Party DPD Office in Bandung, Saturday, Chairman (Ketum) of the Democratic Party Agus Harimurti Yudhoyono (AHY) said that his party must be part of Indonesia's development, both in the short, medium and long term and continue to present solutions.

AHY said that this was in line with the expectations of the 2025-2045 National Long-Term Development Plan (RPJPN) which will start in 2025 as a milestone.

"So, not only seeing this year or the next 5 years, but also looking at the next 20 years," AHY said, as quoted by ANTARA, Saturday, February 8.

Therefore, he hopes that the Democratic Party should not only pay attention from the edge and become spectators, but must be in the executive ranks and be stronger in the legislative ranks.

According to him, these two elements are important because the Democratic Party has a target for the next 4 years, namely 2029 Bangkit Democrats.

AHY admitted that he was always grateful because with all the dynamics of falling up and down in the last 10 years, Democrats could still exist and continue to play a role for the community.

However, another thing that is very grateful for, he continued, is because the Democrats can regain their trust in the national government.

Thus, the Democrat Party wants to focus on the success of the vision and policy program of the President of the Republic of Indonesia, Prabowo Subianto, as well as continuing to present solutions that are prorakyat for the community, especially people in West Java.

Regarding the Democratic Party Congress scheduled for February, AHY said there was no specific preparation because all cadres were solid and had experienced various things that were not easy, especially the threat of split-breaking.

Moreover, he continued, this was done by various external elements who also only had an agenda for personal or group.

"Well, we certainly will not lose, we will not want to lose to deal with things like that," he said.

Regarding the Office of the Regional Representative Council (DPD) of the Democratic Party to be built, AHY hopes that the office located in Arcamanik, Bandung City can be completed soon.

"Hopefully it can bring new blessings and enthusiasm for the rise of Democrats in West Java towards a political event in 2029, both elections and regional elections," said the Coordinating Minister for Regional Infrastructure and Development.

On the same occasion, Chairman of the West Java Provincial Democratic Party DPD Anton Sukartono Soeratto asked for support and prayers so that the construction of the office building would run smoothly and could become a house of aspirations for the people of West Java.

At the event, Anton also led 27 chairmen of the district/city branch leadership council (DPC) of the Democratic Party throughout West Java to pledge to support AHY's return to become chairman of the Democratic Party for the 2025-2030 period.

AHY was accompanied by Secretary General of the Central Executive Board (DPP) of the Democratic Party Teuku Riefky Harsya, General Treasurer of the DPP Democratic Party Renville Antonio, Minister of Transmigration Iftitah Sulaiman Suryanagara, and Deputy Secretary General of the DPP Democratic Party Agust Jovan Latuconsina.

Also present were DPR RI member Herman Khaeron, West Java Democratic Party DPD Secretary Mohamad Handarujati Kalamullah, West Java Democratic Party DPD Treasurer Ratnawati, and West Java Democratic Party DPD Executive Director Maulana Hasanudin.
