Spanish Police Arrest 2 Prisoners Escape From Prison With Super Strict Security In Portugal

JAKARTA - Spanish police recaptured two of the five inmates who carried out a spectacular escape last year from a high-security prison in Portugal.

The Argentine and British are known to work for drug gangs in Alicante.

The five people escaped from the Vale de Judeus prison during visiting hours in September with the help of a long ladder provided by an outside accomplice.

Two Portuguese nationals and one Georgian citizen were re-arrested the following month - one in Morocco, one in Portugal, and the last in Italy.

Reported by Reuters on Friday, February 7, Spanish police are now also arresting British citizen Mark Cameron Roscaleer, 36, who was jailed for violent crimes including robbery and torture carried out in Portugal, and Argentine citizen Rodolfo Jose Lohrmann (61).

Lohrmann served a 17-year prison sentence for crimes including bank robbery and is awaiting extradition to his home country.

Police said they had found the two of them extorted drug networks in southeastern Spain after a death threats victim reported the incident.

Police footage showed an arrest at a car repair shop, officers jumped out of several cars and clamped the fugitives to the ground.
