PDIP Encourages Improvement Of Free Nutrition Eating Mechanisms, Focuses On Underprivileged Children

JAKARTA - Deputy Chairman of Commission X DPR RI from the PDIP faction, My Esti Wijayati, asked the government to improve the mechanism for providing free nutritious food (MBG), one of which is by prioritizing the priority scale of the recipients of the program. For example, by targeting schools where the majority of students come from underprivileged families.

"For MBG, there are actually spaces that we hope for Commission IX later because this is their domain, but those who receive MBG are school children, we only propose several alternatives if possible," said My Esti, Friday, February 7.

"This BMBG should be prioritized or applied not to all school children. We can all see that children from families are able to get used to breakfast with pocket money, bring money to see the figure of Rp. 10 thousand to eat, I can't imagine," he continued.

This means, continued Esti, schools whose children come from families are not a priority for the MBG program. The distribution of MBG, according to Esti, can be prioritized to areas where the stunting rate or poverty is high.

"Once again, that we fully support the policy for eating free nutrition because this is important for our children, but the priority scale is met," said Esti.

"We agree, we strongly support this MBG. But the mechanism must be improved, the priority scale, and infrastructure must be ready. So that the economy becomes Pak Prabowo's target that this will build the economy at the lower level," said Esti.

"Because if it's at the lower level, the effect is extraordinary. For example, cooked at Posyandu-Posyandu or kelurahan, vegetables from the residents there, entering there, side dishes buying around it enter there, farmers getting hit, farmers getting hit. If every day it is certain that there will be a lot of needs. Then the mothers who originally attended the gathering, for example, this could be cooking there.
