JAKARTA - The Palestinian Authority has criticized Israel's military action in the West Bank, which has so far killed dozens of civilians.

Palestinian Presidential Spokesman Nabil Abu Rudeineh condemned the expansion of Israel's war on Palestinians in the West Bank, which is considered aimed at displacing citizens and ethnic cleansing, warning of the dangers of the plan for the future of the region.

He further explained that the aggressive policies implemented by occupation forces in the West Bank had killed 29 people, injured and arrested hundreds, as well as demolition of all settlement blocks in Jenin and Tulkarm camps, eviction of thousands of civilians, and massive destruction of infrastructure.

"We demand the US Government's intervention before it's too late to stop the ongoing Israeli aggression against Palestinians and their land, which will cause the situation to explode in an uncontrolled manner, and everyone will pay the price," Abu Rudeineh said.

He added that the Palestinian people would not accept any plans, either alternative relocation or homeland and threaten the Palestinian people will not benefit anyone, but will cause widespread destruction here or in the region, either today or tomorrow.

Separately, the Ministry of Health said 70 Palestinians had been killed by Israeli forces in the West Bank's gubernatorial territory since early 2025, most of them from Jenin's governorial region.

The ministry explained in a statement that among the Palestinians killed there were 10 children, one girl, and two old men.

If detailed, the number of people killed according to the governor's area is Jenin (38 people), Tubas (15), Nablus (6), Tulkarm: (5), Hebron (3), Bethlehem (2) and Jerusalem (1).

Israel's troops, backed by armored helicopters and bulldozers, began an attack on the city on January 21, two days after the ceasefire in Gaza between Israel and the militant group Hamas came into force.

Israel regards the West Bank as part of a multi-front war against Iranian-backed groups set up around its borders, from Gaza to Lebanon and including the Houthis in Yemen, and turned its attention to the area immediately after the halt to fighting in Gaza.

The United Nations Special Reporter for the occupied Palestinian Territoriesung Albanese denounced Israel's actions in the West Bank as "criminal acts."

"The intention of genocide is clearly evident in Israel's way of targeting all Palestinians," he said in an upload on X.

Albanese pointed out that he had warned UNGA (UN General Assembly) about this in his latest report in October 2024.

He added that the intention of genocide was evident in Israel's way of targeting all Palestinians and the entire occupied Palestinian territories, which Israel claims are exclusively aimed at determining the fate of Jews themselves.

The UN official called on the international community to intervene and stop the ongoing destruction, which he said had expanded to cover all occupied areas, not just Gaza.

"It's been time to intervene to stop it," he said.
