JAKARTA - Chairman of Commission IV of the DPR Titiek Soeharto is concerned about the scarcity of 3 kilograms of LPG gas due to the ban on sales by retail traders. Titiek hopes that the scarcity will cause long queues in the community to no longer occur.

"Yes, we are paying attention to that, don't let it be like that, hopefully," said Titiek at the Parliament Complex, Senayan, Jakarta, Tuesday, February 4.

The deputy chairman of the Gerindra Party's Board of Trustees also believes that President Prabowo Subianto will respond quickly to the issue.

"I think Pak Prabowo's government will be responsive soon to resolve this," said Titiek.

Previously, President Prabowo Subianto ordered Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM) Bahlil Lahadalia to allow retailers to re-sell 3 kilograms (kg) LPG gas, which was banned.

This order was conveyed by the Daily Chairperson of the Gerindra Party DPP, Sufmi Dasco Ahmad, regarding the polemic on the prohibition of retailers from selling 3 kg LPG gas which makes it difficult for the community.

According to Dasco, after communicating with President Prabowo, this decision was taken to provide concessions for people who need melon gas.

"The president has instructed the ESDM to reactivate existing retailers for selling as usual, while the retailers will be used as sub-baselines. This is to regulate prices so that they are not expensive in the community," said Dasco at the Parliament Complex, Senayan, Jakarta, Tuesday, February 4.
