JAKARTA - The Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy Sandiaga Uno admitted that he had received complaints from musicians regarding the ban on live music performances and DJs during the month of Ramadan in Jakarta.
In cycling activities with the Deputy Governor of DKI Jakarta, Ahmad Riza Patria, and the ranks of the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government, Sandiaga conveyed this complaint.
"Musicians and artists who have been vaccinated this morning provide input, especially in DKI Jakarta. They want to be facilitated so they can continue to be creative", Sandiaga said at the City Hall of DKI, Central Jakarta, Monday, April 19.
To follow up, Sandiaga said that the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy held a meeting with DKI Jakarta Governor Anies Baswedan, Pangdam Jaya, and Head of Jakarta Metro Police to allow live music in restaurants to cafes again.
"The point is we are trying to facilitate and find solutions. Because these musicians can also be invited to work together to socialize to not homecoming", said Sandiaga.
After coordinating, Sandiaga said that the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government will again facilitate the artists and musicians to return to performing in cafes. Because, according to him, restaurants and cafes are not the biggest triggers for the transmission of COVID-19.
"But it must be ensured that they (musicians) adhere to health protocols. Maybe their capacity, hours are limited, the dance floor is eliminated. The focus is on how to wear masks, maintain distance, and how to socialize to not homecoming", Sandiaga explained.
However, DKI Jakarta Provincial Government still needs time to prepare the regulation. "So, friends will be patient first. This is the level of DKI Jakarta. At the national level, it is allowed. This DKI Jakarta will collaborate", he said.
Previously, DKI Jakarta Governor Anies Baswedan prohibited live music in restaurants and cafes during the month of Ramadan this year.
During Enforcement of Restrictions on Community Activities Mikro, Anies previously allowed live music with acoustic types to appear in restaurants. With a note, it does not cause a crowd.
Head of the Tourism Industry Division Tourism and Creative Economy Agency of Jakarta Dedi Sumardi said this decision was contained in the Governor's Decree Number 434 of 2021 and Decree of the Division Tourism and Creative Economy Agency Number 313 of 2021.
"During Ramadan, all live music to the acoustic type is prohibited. Later there will be more policies to allow it", said Dedi.
