JAKARTA - The Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) of Jepara Regency, Central Java, Wednesday, January 29, continues to search for a landslide victim in Tanjung Village, Pakisaji District. Meanwhile, two other victims have been found safe.

The Chief Executive of the Jepara BPBD, Arwin Noor Isdiyanto, revealed that the two survivors were M Robin (19) and Ariel Sugi Prasetyo (18), both residents of East Sukawawal Village, Pakisaji District. Meanwhile, another victim, M Nurul Adzim (18), is still being searched.

The landslide incident occurred on Wednesday, January 29 at around 02.00 WIB in the morning. The three teenagers were camping in the area when heavy rains flushed the area. The unstable soil conditions caused landslides.

"Two survivors managed to save themselves even though one of them was injured by a landslide. Meanwhile, M Nurul Adzim was declared missing," said Arwin Noor Isdiyanto in Jepara.

BPBD Jepara together with a joint team from Basarnas, Police, TNI, the community, and a number of volunteers have conducted searches for missing victims. However, the search was temporarily suspended due to terrain conditions and unfavorable weather.

The survivors have been evacuated and received treatment at the Jepara Hospital and RA Kartini Hospital in Jepara. Meanwhile, BPBD Jepara has established a search post at Kalibening Tanjung Tourism to facilitate the coordination of rescue teams.

"The search will continue on Thursday, January 30, starting at 06.00 WIB," he added.

The public is advised to remain alert to potential landslides, especially in areas with soil contours that are prone to landslides due to high rainfall.
