Brimob Sultra Sterilization Vihara From The 2025 Chinese New Year Preparation Explosives

The Gegana Detachment of the Mobile Brigade Unit (Sat Brimob) of the Southeast Sulawesi Regional Police (Polda) carried out sterilization of a number of monasteries in Kendari City, Southeast Sulawesi Province, from explosives for the preparation of the 2025 Chinese New Year worship.

"This afternoon we from Den Gegana Sat Brimob Polda Sultra carry out sterilization activities at the Vihara in the context of celebrating the New Year's Eve," said the Commander of the Gegana Detachment Sat Brimob Polda Sultra Kompol Asri Dyini when met in Kendari, Antara, Tuesday, January 28 evening.

The sterilization activity was carried out to check a number of rooms and equipment used in the implementation of the Chinese New Year Worship in two monasteries in Kendari City, including the Determination Vihara Maitreya Kelurahan Kemaraya and Vihara Eka Dharma Manggala, Tipulu Village.

"We carry out this activity with the aim of checking if there is a threat to objects or maybe things that may interfere with worship activities," Asri Dyini.

He said that in the sterilization implementation, no suspicious objects were found which were considered to hinder or interfere with the implementation of worship.

Asri explained that for the sterilization activity, his party prepared three composites, the first composites in the Maitreya Determination Vihara and the second composite at Vihara Eka Dharma Manggala.

"Meanwhile, the third composite will carry out large-scale patrols together with the Kendari Police and the Southeast Sulawesi Regional Police," explained Asri Dyini.

The equipment used in the sterilization includes the detection equipment suspected of being a handak material, or perhaps a means of detecting from the air in the room.

Meanwhile, the Board of the Determination Vihara Maitreya Veni said that during the celebration or Worship of the Substitution of the Chinese New Year in the temple, around 50 people would be followed.

"For preparation, the most for cleaning, just add Lampion lights," said Veni.
