JAKARTA - Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto paid tribute to the Father of the Nation of India, Mahatma Gandhi, through a ceremony to lay wreaths at Rajghat Memorial Park, New Delhi, India, Saturday.
The ceremony, which is part of President Prabowo's state agenda in India, was also attended by a number of ministers of the Red and White Cabinet and several Indonesian students in New Delhi, India.
At the Rajghat monument the point where Mahatma Gandhi was cremated, the President laid a wreath, and circled the black dimer building, and sprinkled red rose petals. Then, the ceremony session was continued with a moment of silence as a form of respect for Bapu, greeting Mahatma Gandhi, which means 'Father'.
President Prabowo then filled in the guest book and wrote his impression for Mahatma Gandhi.
'Mahatma Gandhi is a great leader, a great teacher, a great inspiration to all mankind. He has been my inspiration in fighting for justice, freedom, and human dignity. May his spirit be calm, and may his teachings remain eternal," wrote President Prabowo.
