DKI Deputy Governor Riza Patria Will Testify At The Petamburan Crowd Case Session

JAKARTA - Rizieq Shihab's lawyer, Sugito Atmo Prawiro, said that the public prosecutor plans to present DKI Jakarta Deputy Governor Riza Patria as a witness.

Deputy Governor Riza will testify in the follow-up trial of the alleged crowd and violation of the health protocol in Petamburan.

"Yes, I heard that", said Sugito to reporters, Monday, April 19.

It's just that Sugito cannot confirm whether the trial will be held today or not. Because the trial of the Megamendung case has not yet been completed.

"So for the Petamburan trial after this, if you hurry. Because in the previous session the chairman of the assembly said that the fasting month for the trial at 3 o'clock was over", he said.

"It's just that the Megamendung trial has not yet been completed, and will be continued by the four witnesses", he continued.

Rizieq Shihab was charged with incitement to the appearance of a crowd at his daughter's wedding as well as commemorating the Prophet's birthday in Petamburan, Central Jakarta. This crowd is taking place in the midst of the COVID-19 Pandemic.

"Doing, who orders to do and who participates in doing actions in public orally or in writing incites to commit a criminal offense of health quarantine as referred to in Article 93 of Law Number 6 of 2018 concerning Health Canteen, committing violence against the general authorities or not obeying both the provisions of the Law and a position order given is based on the provisions of the law”, said the prosecutor reading the indictment.

According to prosecutors, Rizieq Shihab and Haris Ubaidillah, Ahmad Sabri Lubis, Ali Alwi Alatas, Idrus alias Idrus Al Habsyi and Maman Suryadi were an incitement to the emergence of a crowd in Petamburan.
